Congratulations to Natalie

I have a great relationship with most of my brides but not all of them I share a close bond with.  Natalie was a referral from a friend of a friend.  When she first emailed me, I didn’t tell her that I was pregnant and would be giving birth 3 months before her wedding.  On the day of the trial, I could tell my baby bump made her a bit nervous.  But after getting to know one another during the trial she felt at ease and booked.  She kept in touch and was always asking about me and making sure I was having a great pregnancy!  Even on the day of, she would constantly ask if the little one was okay!  I must say she was one of the sweetest and fun brides I have been around.  Here are her pictures!

Originally Natalie didn't want red lips but she wanted to be traditional at the same time.  We decided to try it on the trial and loved it.  I think the red we used on her looks great!

Natalie's sister.  She wanted a simple/neutral look.

Glamcor

My lighting system is ordered!  I will get it in 3 days!!!

Ulta Haul

Everyone has been raving about so many drugstore brands and Ulta coupons.  Last week I made my first Ulta visit and haul.  I ended up spending over $100 because there were so many things I wanted to try... And with a 2/3 product return policy, who wouldn't!

In short, Revlon ColorStay in Golden Beige (I'm Mac NC42) was my favorite purchase!  I can't wait to try the PhotoReady formula!

NYX - Mosaic Powder in Paradise: Fail. It's way too pigmented and bright for a pink. I guess I'll be going back to Mac's dolly mix until I find something better. The search for the perfect pink blush continues.
NYX - Cream Blush in Glow: I can't tell if I like it. I know I don't love it though. And again, my perfect pink blush continues. Return!

NYX - Lipliner in Natural: Perfect nude lipliner.
NYX - Lipliner in Nude Beige: Not sure. Return.
NYX - Lipliner in Nude Truffle: Not sure. Return.

NYX - Round Lipstick in Thalia: Not sure if I love it but I do like it a lot. Will be keeping.
NYX - Round Lipstick in Circe: Major fail. Way too nude for my complexion. Looked like concealer 5 shades lighter on my lips.

**NYX ROUND LIPSTICKS** Are nice but they are too wet. It was breezy outside so my hair must have touched my lips and then my face leaving a streak of lipstick on my face.

NYX - Jumbo Eye Pencil in Black Bean: I love it but not for a smokey eye base. I put my UD primer on and then put this on top + eye shadow. My eyes were creasing before I even finished my makeup! I do LOVE it for a thick water line and will be buying 1 for my kit as well.

NYX - AUTO eyebrow pencil in Black: HATE HATE HATE IT.

Palladio: Because the foundation was horrible (on me) and the rice powder (warm beige - too light for NC42 skin) didn't match, I will be returning all of the products!

Revlon ColorStay Foundation (Oily/Combo skin): After trying Natural tan (too light in pictures) and Toast (too dark) I found the PERFECT COLOR! Golden caramel!

Revlon PhotoReady Concealer in #4: Way too light. Coverage stinks too. Return.

Revlon Lipstick in Berry Haute: LOVE IT.

Benefit - Boi-ing Concealer in #3: I always replenish this product. Love it.

Loreal Linear Intense Eyeliner: Love it and always replenish.

I also got the NYX 2 in 1 sharpener. I'm looking at the receipt now and kind of shocked that it was $4.49. That is a lot for a sharpener! Especially if you lose them on the regular like me.

Sarah's Trial

As most of you guys know, I recently had a baby and had to take a small hiatus from makeup.  My baby is getting bigger and I am finally back at work doing what I love best…Painting faces!  So I figured, why not start a blog!  I’ll be posting pictures of my favorite trials, brides, makeup hauls…And maybe some random pictures of my baby!

I recently had the pleasure to work with Sarah.  She contacted me while I was on maternity leave and was okay with waiting until the baby was born and a little bigger.  Based on work that that I emailed her and correspondence, she booked me for her engagement and wedding beforehand.  In February we did a trial for her March engagement party.

Here are pictures from her trial…

We started off with a smokey olive green look...

And ended up taking out the green and changing it to a bronze-gold color.  Sarah ended up going with this look along with a few minor adjustments the day of!
